S.Korea LG, Hyundai win $1.48 bln Turkmen gas plant

SEOUL Dec 29 (Reuters) - A consortium of South Korea's LG International Corp (001120.KS) and Hyundai Engineering Co has won a $1.48 billion order to build a gas plant in Turkmenistan, central Asia's largest gas producer.

The gas plant, to be built in the Yoloten region by the third quarter of 2012, would produce 10 billion cubic metres of natural gas annually, LG International said in a statement. (Reporting by Rhee So-eui; Editing by Chris Lewis)
