S.Korea, China, UAE in $9.7 bln Turkmenistan gas deal

MOSCOW Dec 29 (Reuters) - Firms from South Korea, China and the United Arab Emirates have won $9.7 billion worth of contracts to develop Turkmenistan's largest natural gas deposit, a source in Turkmenistan's government told Reuters on Tuesday.

"China's CNPC, LG International Corp (001120.KS), Hyundai Engineering Co and the UAE's Petrofac won the tender," the source said.

The companies will drill and build gas refinery plants in the Yoloten region.
