LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "The Hangover" led the national DVD sales chart for a third consecutive week Wednesday, and regained the top spot on the rental chart.

The quirky comedy, which tells the bawdy tale of a Las Vegas bachelor party road trip gone wrong, ended 2009 as the year's No. 2 seller, right behind "Twilight" and just ahead of "Up."

"Hangover" led the Nielsen VideoScan sales chart for the week ending January 3, while "Paranormal Activity" debuted at No. 2. The low-budget horror film also bowed at No. 2 on trade publication Home Media Magazine's rental chart.

"District 9," which had debuted at No. 1 on the rental chart the previous week, fell to No. 3.

On the Nielsen VideoScan Blu-ray Disc chart, "The Hangover" also reclaimed the top spot from "District 9."

"Jennifer's Body," a horror film that earned $16.2 million in theaters, could muster only a No. 12 debut on the sales chart and a sixth-place finish on the rental chart, despite Megan Fox in the lead role.
