TOKYO Jan 8 (Reuters) - Japanese National Strategy Minister Yoshito Sengoku said on Friday that he would not comment on foreign exchange rates.

"I have nothing to say about currencies, but we will monitor markets," Sengoku, also administrative reform minister, told a news conference after a cabinet meeting.

The remark came after new Finance Minister Naoto Kan said on Thursday a weaker yen would be favourable and that he would work with the Bank of Japan to get the currency to an appropriate level. [ID:nTOE60607E] (Reporting by Hideyuki Sano)
