ATHENS Jan 9 (Reuters) - An explosive device went off outside Greece's parliament in central Athens on Saturday evening, causing no injuries, police said.

The device, placed next to a garbage bin at the tomb of the unknown soldier outside the parliament building, caused a loud blast that was heard kilometres away.

Police said there was a warning telephone call to a newspaper about 10 minutes before the explosion but no claim of responsibility.
