The dollar gave up earlier gains to as high as 92.43 yen on EBS and traded at 92.18 yen JPY=, up 0.1 percent on the day. It had jumped after the official said the dollar had hit bottom and had limited room to fall further.

The euro rebounded to trade at $1.4485 EUR=, down 0.2 percent after sliding as low as $1.4453 earlier. (Reporting by Satomi Noguchi)
