UPDATE 1-Arris sees higher profit, revenue in fourth quarter

Jan 13 (Reuters) - Communications technology company Arris Group Inc (ARRS.O) increased its earnings and revenue outlook for the fourth quarter, sending its shares up 7 percent. Arris, which sells products that enable high speed data and video traffic, forecast revenue of $295 million to $300 million.

In October, the company projected net income of 13 cents to 17 cents a share on revenue of $265 million to $285 million. Excluding items, it forecast net income of 22 cents to 26 cents per share.

Arris said it had a moderate start to 2010, in part due to the strong fourth quarter, and expected a strong year assuming an economic recovery.
