Jan 19 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2100 GMT on Tuesday.

** Kraft Foods (KFT.N) sealed a friendly deal to buy British candy maker Cadbury CBRY.L for about $19.6 billion (11.9 billion pounds) after frantic last-minute talks broke an impasse over price.

** MetLife Inc (MET.N) is in talks to buy American International Group Inc's (AIG.N) American Life Insurance Co (Alico) unit in a deal that could be valued between $14 billion and $15 billion, a source familiar with the matter said. [ID:nN19227794]

** Industrial conglomerate Tyco International (TYC.N) will acquire Broadview Security for $1.9 billion in a deal that brings together two large providers of residential and commercial security in North America, the two companies said. [ID:nN18142358]

** Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) (1398.HK) plans to buy half of the China insurance unit of Taiwan's Cathay Financial (2882.TW) for about $59 million, a source said, in what could be the first deal under a landmark cross-Strait pact. [ID:nTOE60I02J]
