Climate bill not dead in Congress, Hoyer says

WASHINGTON Jan 20 (Reuters) - Cap-and-trade legislation is not dead now that Democrats have lost a seat in the Senate but some parts of the bill will be easier to pass than others, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said on Wednesday.

"I don't believe that cap and trade is dead," Hoyer said.

The parts of the bill that encourage energy independence will be easier to pass than the elements that limit carbon emissions, he said.
