NEW YORK |
NEW YORK Jan 27 (Reuters) - American International Group's (AIG.N) aircraft lessor, International Lease Finance Corp, plans to suspend lease rental charges for aircraft used in flights for Haiti earthquake disaster relief, a spokesman said on Wednesday.
ILFC will waive the rental charges for non-revenue flights retroactive from the date of the earthquake through the end of February for all its airline customers.
A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti on Jan. 12, killing up to 200,000 people and devastating the capital city and other areas in ruins. [ID:nHAITI] (Reporting by Paritosh Bansal. Editing by Robert MacMillan)
