Hyundai Steel Q4 meets fcast, aims higher 2010 sales

SEOUL Jan 28 (Reuters) - South Korea's Hyundai Steel (004020.KS), the country's second-largest steelmaker, said on Thursday it was targeting a 15 percent rise in 2009 sales after posting quarterly profit in line with market expectations.

Hyundai said it was targetting 9.2 trillion won ($8.01 billion) in 2010 revenue and to sell a record 12 million tonnes of steel products.

It reported 188 billion won in operating profit for the three months to end-December, down from 206 billion won a year ago and meeting analysts' average expectation of 187 billion won by Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
