Obama proposes 3-year spending freeze on some programs

WASHINGTON Jan 27 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Wednesday proposed a three-year spending freeze on some government programs and identified $20 billion in budget savings for next year.

In his State of the Union address to Congress, Obama said he would not continue tax cuts for oil companies, fund managers and those making more than $250,000 a year.
