WASHINGTON Jan 27 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Wednesday there are difficult days ahead in Afghanistan but he remains confident of success, and he reaffirmed his determination to withdraw U.S. combat troops from Iraq by the end of August.

In his State of the Union address to the U.S. Congress, Obama also said Iran's leaders would face "growing consequences" if they do not meet international obligations.
