China Jan net new yuan loans 1.6 trn yuan -paper

BEIJING Feb 1 (Reuters) - Chinese banks issued net new yuan loans of about 1.6 trillion yuan ($234.4 billion) in January, an official newspaper reported on Monday.

In January 2009, net new local-currency lending came to 1.62 trillion yuan.

The Economic Information Daily also said that China Construction Bank (0939.HK)(601939.SS) was aiming to lend 750 billion yuan, and Bank of China (3988.HK)(601988.SS) 600 billion yuan, over the course of 2010. (Reporting by Aileen Wang and Alan Wheatley; Editing by Ken Wills)
