Jobs bigger priority for Obama than deficit-W.House

WASHINGTON Feb 1 (Reuters) - Combating unemployment and boosting the U.S. economy are bigger priorities for President Barack Obama right now than tackling the federal budget deficit, the White House said on Monday.

"We have to get our economy moving again," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters when asked whether jobs and the economy or deficit control topped his agenda. He was speaking after Obama unveiled his new budget plan that sought to balance job creation and fiscal restraint. (Reporting by Matt Spetalnick)
