Obama: Still hopes to pass healthcare reform "soon"
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama insisted on Monday he still has strong hopes to push through a healthcare overhaul soon, despite legislative obstacles he faces.
"It is my greatest hope that that we can get this done not just a year from now but soon. We came extremely close," Obama said during a YouTube live Internet broadcast. His healthcare reform effort has been stalled by his Democratic party's loss of a pivotal Senate seat in Massachusetts.
