EU says raided electrical equipment makers
BRUSSELS |
BRUSSELS Feb 3 (Reuters) - European Union antitrust regulators said on Wednesday they had raided a number of electrical equipment companies on suspicion of breaching EU rules against cartels.
"On 20 January 2010 (European) Commission officials carried out targeted inspections at the premises of producers of Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems," the EU competition watchdog said, referring to equipment used to increase power transfer capability of transmission networks.
In its statement, the European Commission did not identify the firms and added that the fact such inspections had been carried out did not mean the companies were guilty of anti-competitive behaviour.
