DUBLIN Feb 3 (Reuters) - Ireland expects the European Commission to respond to restructuring plans submitted by Bank of Ireland (BKIR.I) and Allied Irish Banks (ALBK.I) in the first half of the year, Finance Minister Brian Lenihan said.

"Work on the structural plans is ongoing in the (European) Commission and I anticipate the commission will revert on the structural plans in the first half of this year," Lenihan told parliament.
