Feb 3 (Reuters) - Liberty Mutual [LBRTML.UL] has sued rival property and casualty insurer Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd (AHL.N) and nine of Liberty's former employees, accusing them of plotting to steal its professional liability insurance business.

In a lawsuit filed on Monday in the New York State Supreme Court, Liberty charged that nine former senior employees of its professional liability insurance business conspired with Aspen and misappropriated its trade secrets and goodwill.

The defendants, who all now work for Aspen, include Bruce Eisler, a former senior vice president at Liberty. The complaint also names four vice presidents, two assistant vice presidents and two underwriting specialists.

Aspen did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment. Bruce Eisler could not be reached for comment. (Reporting by Santosh Nadgir in Bangalore; Editing by Anne Pallivathuckal)
