G7 agrees banks must help pay crisis costs-Germany

IQALUIT, Canada Feb 6 (Reuters) - Group of Seven officials agree that banks must contribute towards the cost of dealing with the financial crisis but have not agreed on what specific instruments the banks should use, a German official said on Saturday.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, also said Germany's finance minister has invited his G7 counterparts to meet on May 20 in Berlin. (Reporting by Gernot Heller; Writing by Jeffrey Hodgson; editing by Peter Galloway)
