European stock futures point to mixed start
LONDON |
LONDON Feb 8 (Reuters) - European stock index futures pointed to a mixed start for equities on Monday, as concerns over some of euro zone peripheral economies persisted.
By 0703 GMT, futures for DJ Euro Stoxx STXEc1 and Germany's DAX FDXc1 slipped 0.2 and 0.1 percent respectively. France's CAC 40 FCEc1 futures were up 0.4 percent.
Over the weekend, European finance ministers tried to assure their counterparts in the Group of Seven that the euro zone's debt crisis is under control. They said they would make sure that Greece sticks with its budget cutting plans. [ID:nN06216480]
The FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 index of leading European shares fell 2.1 percent on Friday to notch up its biggest weekly decline in 11 months on intensified worries about euro zone sovereign debt. (Reporting by Dominic Lau, editing by Atul Prakash)
