Germany says GM seeks state aid for Opel

BERLIN Feb 9 (Reuters) - General Motors has made an application to Germany for state aid under which the federal and regional governments would provide 1.5 billion euros in guarantees, Economy Minister Rainer Bruederle said on Tuesday.

Bruederle added that GM was also seeking a further 1.2 billion euros in aid from Britain, Spain, Poland and Austria.
