Short Stocks: Companies with higher short interest late Jan

 NEW YORK, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Short interest on the New York
Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq rose in late January, suggesting
an increase in bearish bets as equity prices headed lower and
volatility in the stock market rose.
 The following list shows some stocks that saw increased
interest from short sellers, who bet that a stock's price will
fall, and key recent news events for those stocks.

 BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY BRKB.N
 Short interest rose in the company in late January.
 On Jan. 26, Standard & Poor's said it would add Warren
Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc (BRKa.N) (BRKb.N) to its
flagship S&P 500 stock index .SPX.
 Earlier, shareholders approved a 50-for-1 split of the
company's class B shares.
 ERICSSON (ERIC.O)
 Short interest rose in the company in late January.
 On Jan. 25, the mobile network maker reported that
fourth-quarter sales were hurt by spending cuts by telecom
operators.
