Olympics-Canadian ice hockey great Gretzky lights cauldron

VANCOUVER Feb 12 (Reuters) - Canadian ice hockey great Wayne Gretzky lit the permanent cauldron after the opening ceremony at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver on Friday.

After a host of Canadian athletes lit a symbolic cauldron at BC Place, the venue for the two-and-a-half hour curtainraiser, Gretzky, known as the Great One, ignited a permanent cauldron in Vancouver.
