Moldova rebel region offers to host Russia missiles
MOSCOW |
MOSCOW Feb 15 (Reuters) - Moldova's rebel region of Transdniestria said on Monday it was ready to host a Russian missile defence system if Moscow were to ask, Russia news agencies reported, quoting regional leader Igor Smirnov.
Smirnov linked the offer to host Russian missiles on its territory to Washington's plans to deploy elements of its own anti-missile system in Eastern Europe, Interfax news agency quoted him as saying.
