Futures point to higher open for European shares

LONDON Feb 16 (Reuters) - European stock index futures pointed to a higher open for equities on Tuesday, with focus on banking shares after Barclays (BARC.L) beat expectations with profits of over 11 billion pounds last year.

By 0741 GMT, futures for the DJ Euro Stoxx STXEc1, for Germany's DAX FDXc1 and for France's CAC FCEc1 were up 1 to 1.2 percent.

The FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 index of top European shares ended 0.4 percent higher at 991.76 points, after falling 0.3 percent on Friday. (Reporting by Atul Prakash)
