UPDATE 1-Rogers Q4 profit rises; sees Q1 above Street view

Feb 18 (Reuters) - Rogers Corp (ROG.N), a manufacturer of specialty materials for electronics and consumer markets, posted an 82 percent rise in quarterly profit, helped by cost savings, and forecast first-quarter results above market expectations.
The company posted fourth-quarter earnings of $7.1 million, or 45 cents a share, compared with $3.9 million, or 24 cents a share, a year earlier.
Excluding certain charges, it earned 40 cents a share.
Revenue was almost flat at $78 million.
Analysts on average were expecting the company to earn 36 cents a share, on revenue of $78 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Rogers Corp also forecast first-quarter earnings of 23 cents to 30 cents a share, on sales of $75 million to $80 million.
Analysts were expecting earnings of 13 cents a share on revenue of $73.8 million.
