US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Stocks end up as worries over Fed move ease

NEW YORK Feb 19 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks ended slightly higher on Friday as investors took the Federal Reserve's surprise increase in its discount rate as evidence the financial system is healing but worried the eventual withdrawal of easy money will hurt Wall Street.

Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 9.45 points, or 0.09 percent, at 10,402.35. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 2.42 points, or 0.22 percent, at 1,109.17. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was up 2.16 points, or 0.10 percent, at 2,243.87.

For the week, the Dow was up 3 percent, the S&P 500 was up 3.1 percent and the Nasdaq was up 2.8 percent.
