U.S. CFTC to examine trading in metals markets

WASHINGTON | Tue Feb 23, 2010 3:35pm EST

WASHINGTON Feb 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said on Tuesday it will hold a public meeting on March 25 to examine futures and options trading in the precious and base metals markets.

CFTC Chairman Gary Gensler had previously announced the agency would review whether position limits should be imposed on metal contracts, similar to the meetings the CFTC held last summer on position limits for energy contracts.

Gensler said in a statement "the meeting will be part of our ongoing look into how the commission regulates futures and options markets on commodities of finite supply." (Reporting by Tom Doggett; Editing by Marguerita Choy)

CFTC to investigate metals trading?

This has to be one of the biggest frauds perpatrated on the public, are we really to belive a government agency is going to buck the feds banks, aka JPM and GS, knowing they work at the behest of the treasury to supress the metals markets as safe havens in lieu of the dollar?
