MADRID Feb 23 (Reuters) - Spain's public debt is still at manageable levels, and less than the OECD average in relation to GDP, but it must be brought be under control, OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria said in Madrid on Tuesday.

He also said Spain's debt situation is not comparable with that of Greece.

"I believe that the situation with Greece's debt is Greek. There is no way it can be compared," Gurria said in response to a question from journalists on whether the two countries' situations were comparable." (Reporting by Robert Hetz; writing by Jason Webb and Judy MacInnes)
