Xstrata offers term coal contracts to Chubu at $100/T

PERTH Feb 24 (Reuters) - Xstrata Plc (XTA.L) offer Japan's Chubu Electric (9502.T) annual thermal coal contracts starting in April at $100 a tonne, up about 43 percent from the settled price last year, two sources said on Wednesday.

"The Xstrata guys are in town at the moment and they have tabled an offer at $100 a tonne," said a source from Chubu with knowledge of the negotiations.
