COLOMBO Feb 25 (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is delaying the third tranche of a $2.6 billion loan for Sri Lanka, IMF officials said on Thursday, saying they are unhappy that the island missed fiscal targets.

"Yes, the third tranche will be delayed and completed when the budget is formulated after the election." said Brian Aitken, the IMF mission head to Sri Lanka. (Reporting by Shihar Aneez; Writing by Ranga Sirilal; Editing by Neil Fullick)
