China must be long-term gold buyer -govt researcher

BEIJING Feb 26 (Reuters) - China has to keep buying gold over a long period and any fall in the price XAU= will present a good buying opportunity, Xia Bin, head of the financial institute of the Development Research Centre, a think-tank under the central bank, said on Friday.

He said he had no idea if China would buy 191 tonnes of gold being offered for sale by the International Monetary Fund.
