KGHM confirms FY 2009 net fell to 2.5 bln zlotys

WARSAW Feb 26 (Reuters) - Europe's No.2 copper producer KGHM KGHM.WA closed 2009 with a net profit of 2.5 billion zlotys ($843 million), in line with its guidance, raised last week as a rebound in copper prices capped KGHM's profit decline.

The figure is down 14 percent on the year despite lower-than-expected impairment charges in KGHM's subsidiaries in the fourth quarter, when the state-controlled miner booked a bottom line of 685 million zlotys.

Full-year revenue fell by a notch to 11.06 billion zlotys, also confirming the miner's latest of in total three upward revisions of the company's guidance for 2009. [ID:nLDE61H1X5] (Reporting by Adrian Krajewski; Editing by Mike Nesbit)
