JPMorgan private bank hires ex-NYC councilman Gioia

NEW YORK, March 1 (Reuters) - JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) on Monday said it hired former New York City Council member Eric Gioia as a private banker for the New York City region.

Gioia joins JP Morgan's private wealth management unit after more than a dozen years in politics and government. He will report to Leslie Lassiter, JPMorgan's market manager for the metro region. (Reporting by Joseph A. Giannone, editing by Leslie Gevirtz)
