Minor quake in Silicon Valley, no damage reported

SAN FRANCISCO, March 3 (Reuters) - A minor earthquake shook the San Francisco Bay Area around Silicon Valley midday on Wednesday, but the local sheriff's office said there were no reports of damage.

The 3.2 magnitude quake was 8 miles (13 km) northeast of San Jose, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. A Santa Clara County sheriff's office spokesman said there were no reports of damage about an hour after the quake hit at 12:36 p.m. (2036 GMT). (Reporting by Peter Henderson)
