Swedish cbanker says unaware of "plan B" on Icesave

STOCKHOLM, March 4 (Reuters) - Swedish Central Bank Governor Stefan Ingves said on Thursday he did not know of any Icelandic "plan B" for how to resolve the dispute over the island's "Icesave" debts if voters reject an existing deal on March 6.

In Saturday's referendum, Icelandic voters are expected to nullify an existing accord on repaying Britain and the Netherlands about $5 billion these countries spent compensating overseas savers who lost money in Iceland's financial collapse in 2008.

"I'm not aware of any plan B," Ingves said at a question and answer session in the Swedish parliament.

Sweden and its Nordic neighbours are among the countries that have pledged financial aid to help Iceland recover from its financial meltdown, but the lingering Icesave dispute has delayed the International Monetary Fund-led programme.
