SHANGHAI, March 13 (Reuters) - The heads of more than 10 major Chinese steelmakers have written a letter to Premier Wen Jiabao asking for the government to take up the issue of iron ore price negotiations, state media said on Saturday.

The companies urged Wen to elevate the matter of importing iron ore to the level of the national government, the official China Securities Journal said. (Reporting by Jason Subler; Editing by Paul Tait)
