The institutional broker dealer announced the launch of its exchange-traded funds desk, which will be led by William Bauer, who joins the firm from Knight Capital.

STANDARD BANK

The firm hired Jurgen Heppe as managing director of its telecoms and media team in London.

ANGELO, GORDON & CO

The provider of alternative investment products hired Garrett Walls as head of marketing effective April 5. Walls joins the firm from bond manager TCW, and will be based in New York.

SOCIETE GENERALE CORPORATE & INVESTMENT BANKING

The investment bank, which is one of Societe Generale's (SOGN.PA) three key businesses hired Andrew Meigh and Verender Badial as managing directors within its Equity Capital Markets team. Meigh was the chief executive of Clarkson Investment Services, while Badial joins from Friend LLP.

MFC Global Investment Management

The firm named Chris Conkey as chief investment officer of the global equities team. Conkey joins from Evergreen Investment Management Co, and will be based in Boston.

DELOITTE FINANCIAL ADVISORY SERVICES

The firm hired Michael McArthur as managing director to the Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC team, and Robert Wiggins as a director in the Analytic and Forensic Technology Practice.

PENSON WORLDWIDE INC (PNSN.O)

The firm named Clive Triance as chief executive of its London-based clearing and execution services subsidiary Penson Financial Services Ltd. Trianc joins from Nomura Holding Inc's Instinet Europe.

ZURICH NORTH AMERICA COMMERCIAL
