Pelosi: will do what's needed to pass healthcare

WASHINGTON, March 16 | Tue Mar 16, 2010 3:42pm EDT

WASHINGTON, March 16 (Reuters) - U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday said she would do what was necessary to pass healthcare legislation that is facing opposition from Republicans in Congress.

"I think we are in pretty good shape," she said at an event to promote healthcare reform that is President Barack Obama's signature domestic issue.

If the GOP didn’t believe this bill will ultimately benefit the Democrats, they wouldn’t be fussing so much. The Republicans have already proven by their obstructionist strategy that moving the country forward takes a back seat to their political gain. I’m pretty sure if they thought that allowing this Healthcare bill to pass would assure them resounding success in November they’d just be sitting on their hands, smiling smugly and enjoying the show.

The reality is that the Democrats will prove yet again that they are the party that cares about EVERYONE. The party of decency and compassion. And as a result, they will have earned themselves the vast majority of 30 million votes from the newly insured.

The demographics are already against the GOP, with Hispanic population growing, etc. This just helps make the GOP a little bit more irrelevant.

There people do not care about anything but their own ego’s and agendas. It has NOTHING to do with health care now. Just a bunch of power hungry morons that want to control others lives, and dictate their own opinions and beliefs on others.

These people are worse with their health care fanaticism than any religious zealot.
