Fastweb commissioner hearing set for Apr 7- source

ROME, March 19 (Reuters) - A court hearing on whether to place a commissioner in control of Italian broadband company Fastweb FWB.MI and Telecom Italia's (TLIT.MI) Sparkle unit as part of a money laundering probe will take place on April 7, judicial sources said on Friday.

Fastweb, controlled by Swiss phone company Swisscom (SCMN.VX), is hoping to appoint an independent overseer for its wholesale unit to avoid the court placing a commissioner in charge of the whole company. (Writing by Daniel Flynn)
