Swiss stocks - Factors to watch on March 23

ZURICH, March 23 (Reuters) - Swiss stocks were set to open up on Tuesday, in line with other European markets following gains on Wall Street overnight.

The Swiss blue-chip index SMI.SSMI was indicated to open 14 points higher at 6,880 points, premarket data provided by bank Clariden Leu showed.CLPRE

The following are some of the main factors expected to affect Swiss stocks on Tuesday:

SWATCH GROUP(UHR.VX)

Swatch Group's watch brands Omega, Longines and Blancpain added to the industry's growing optimism on Monday by giving themselves the target of lifting sales to a new record this year after a tough 2009.

* Daniel Coleman, the global head of equities at Swiss bank UBS is stepping down after 24 years at the bank.

* A California client of Swiss bank UBS AG was sentenced to six months home detention for tax evasion in the latest case stemming from a U.S. government probe of citizens hiding billions of dollars in offshore assets.
