US states file lawsuit against healthcare reforms

MIAMI, March 23 | Tue Mar 23, 2010 12:19pm EDT

MIAMI, March 23 (Reuters) - State governments led by Florida on Tuesday filed a lawsuit challenging an overhaul of the United States' $2.5 trillion healthcare system, minutes after President Barack Obama signed landmark reform legislation.

The lawsuit by 13 states claims the sweeping reforms violate state-government rights in the U.S. Constitution. It was filed electronically with a federal court in Florida, according to the office of Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, who is a Republican.

The White House has said the suit will fail. (Reporting by Michael Connor, Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)

What a bunch of bull___! It’s all propaganda. If this legislation is so wonderful, then why isn’t Obama and the rest of this country’s leadership signing up? Why do they have an entirely different health care plan? I’ll tell you why: because royalty and not the serfs deserve the best.
