NOMURA (8604.T)
Nomura Securities International said Michael Rietbrock joined the firm as head of U.S. Equity Research. Rietbrock joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was director of U.S. Equity Research.
FOLEY HOAG
Michael Wyatt joined law firm Foley Hoag as a partner. Wyatt was earlier at Hogan & Hartson.
HYPO REAL ESTATE
Axel Wieandt abruptly stepped down as chief executive of nationalized German property lender Hypo Real Estate. HRE management board member Manuela Better will become the bank's chief executive on an interim basis. [ID:nLDE62O1X0]
BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)
Bank of America's U.S. rates strategist Michael Cloherty is leaving the firm. [ID:nN25203298]
JPMORGAN CHASE & CO (JPM.N)
JPMorgan hired Tim Throsby, previously a partner at hedge fund Citadel, as global head of equity derivatives. [ID:nN25240756]
FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS
Investment bank FT Partners said it hired Larry Furlong as managing director and Adam Harrington as vice president. Furlong earlier worked at Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N), while Harrington was at Bank of America.
SUNTRUST BANKS INC (STI.N)
SunTrust said Jerome Lienhard was named senior vice president of strategic finance and administration.
SOCIETE GENERALE (SOGN.PA)
The group's corporate and investment banking division named Galeazzo Pecori Giraldi as deputy chairman of the newly created investment banking committee. Giraldi, who was previously the chairman of the board for Morgan Stanley's (MS.N) Morgan Stanley AG in Switzerland, will be based in Paris.
LLOYDS TSB (LLOY.L)
The UK-based firm named David Loughran as a director on its bond syndicate team. Loughran, who has previously worked with Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc (RBS.L), will be based in London and begins in his new role immediately.
VAM FUNDS
The specialist investment boutique named Tim Thornton as business development manager. Thornton, who has previously worked for Pan Euro and Scottish Provident International Life Assurance, will be based in the United Kingdom.
CITIGROUP (C.N)
The group appointed Nathan McMurtray, Stephen Albutt and Rob Jahrling to its capital markets origination team in Asia Pacific. McMurtray, who joins from Standard Bank in Hong Kong, was named a director in regional equity linked origination and will be based in Hong Kong.
Albutt, also based in Hong Kong, was appointed director and co-head of corporate equity derivatives. Albutt joins from Morgan Stanley.
Jahrling was named a vice president to the Australian team and will be based in Sydney. He joins from Deutsche Bank AG (DBKGn.DE) in Hong Kong.
Citigroup also appointed Colin Banfield as head of M&A for Asia Pacific, the company said on Thursday, as yet another former top Lehman Brothers banker leaves Nomura following bonus payouts. [ID:nTOE62O02X]
Citi Private Bank said it had hired Todd Devin from Bank of America's U.S. Trust. [ID:nWEN2142]
STATE STREET CORP (STT.N)
The company's investment management segment, State Street Global Advisors, named Jenya Emets as an investment manager in the enhanced equity team and Matt Arnold as senior product engineer in the European active equity team.
