ZURICH, March 26 (Reuters) - Switzerland said Germany recognised the Alpine nation would not give administrative assistance in cases of bank data bought from a third party as the two countries struck a new double taxation deal.

The German state of North Rhine-Westphalia has said it would launch 1,100 tax evasion probes against Credit Suisse clients and was investigating staff at the bank on suspicion of aiding evasion after the state bought a CD containing client data. [ID:nLDE62K089] "Regarding the purchased bank data, Germany has acknowledged that Switzerland will not provide administrative assistance on the basis of purchased bank data," Switzerland's Finance Department said in a statement.

Switzerland was able to secure several advantages for Swiss business during the negotiations, it said, without giving further details.
