BRUSSELS, March 29 (Reuters) - The following are mergers under review by the European Commission and a brief guide to the EU merger process:

APPROVALS AND WITHDRAWALS:

-- French energy company Schneider Electric Industries SAS, controlled by Schneider Electric Holding SA (SCHN.PA), to acquire the electricity transmission and distribution unit of Areva T&D Holding SA, which is controlled by French nuclear group Areva CEPFi.PA (approved March 26)

-- U.S. network equipment maker Cisco (CSCO.O) to acquire Norwegian video-conferencing company Tandberg TAA.OL (approved March 29)

-- Draegerwerk AG & Co KGaA (DRWG_p.DE), the German holding company for the Draeger Group, to acquire German medical products maker Draeger Medical AG & Co KG (approved March 29)

-- French engineering group Alstom Holdings, controlled by Alstom SA (ALSO.PA), to acquire a distribution and transmission unit of Areva T&D Holding SA, which is controlled by French nuclear group Areva CEPFi.PA (approved March 26)

-- French engineering group Vinci (SGEF.PA) to acquire French peer Cegelec (approved March 26)

-- Luxembourg-based port operator Euroports Holdings S.a r.l and Belgian's Manuport Group NV, both part of the Euroports group jointly controlled by French bank BNP Paribas (BNPP.PA), Prime Europe Holdings (Malta II) Ltd and Arcus Infrastructure Partners LLP of Guernsey; and Belgian maritime terminal operator DP World NV, owned by Dubai-based DP World group DPW.DI, to acquire joint control of Belgian container terminal operator Trilogiport Container Terminal SA (approved March 29)

-- U.S. consumer products company Jarden Corp to acquire the home care and baby and healthcare business of French energy group Total SA (TOTF.PA) which consists of Financiere Elysees Balzac SA, France; Baby Care Holding SAS, France; NUK USA, LLC of the United States; Mapa GmbH, Germany; and Mapa Spontex (UK) Ltd (approved March 29)

-- French technology company Dassault Systemes (DAST.PA) to buy sales and client support operations of U.S. computer services company IBM (IBM.N) (approved March 29)

NEW LISTINGS:

-- Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (005930.KS) to merge with Samsung Digital Imaging Co. Ltd 108070.KS (notified Feb. 24/deadline March 31)
