Dollar hits 3-month peak on broad yen weakness

TOKYO, April 1 (Reuters) - The dollar hit a three-month high against the yen on Thursday with market players selling the yen broadly on speculation that Japanese institutional investors will buy higher-yielding overseas assets in the new fiscal year.

The dollar advanced as far as 93.65 yen on trading platform EBS, a highest in three months, with short-term traders aiming to hit a major resistance at January high of 93.78 yen.

It traded at 93.62 yen JPY=, up 0.2 percent on the day. (Reporting by Satomi Noguchi)
