SALT LAKE CITY--(Business Wire)--
Former vice president of communications for the Sorenson family of companies,
David B. Parkinson, today announced the launch of Method Communications
(www.methodcommunications.com), an independent public relations and marketing
firm for technology, biotech, healthcare, education and financial services
organizations.

The new company includes the same team of professionals that for eight years
have provided in-house public relations for the 30-plus Salt Lake-based Sorenson
enterprises, investment companies and philanthropic organizations, bringing many
of them into the world media spotlight for the first time. Method Communications
continues to serve a significant list of Sorenson enterprises and is open to new
clients seeking long-term, results-oriented public relations.

"We are very enthusiastic about the ability we now have to offer our
communication services to organizations wanting to increase their visibility
within an industry, a constituency or on the national and international stage,"
said Parkinson. "Our team has a proven record of conveying compelling messages
for clients to editors and producers at news media outlets, to targeted
audiences and to the general public."

Parkinson has lead his team to many successes, including one of the top public
relations stories in 2008, the nationwide launch in pharmacy chains of the
Identigene DNA Paternity Test Kit. This launch produced the equivalent exposure
of tens of millions of dollars in advertising through the news stories it
triggered.

In 2007 the group developed and executed a communications strategy for what
became one of the most successful company launches of the year. GeneTree, a
DNA-enabled family history Web site, was covered in depth worldwide by The
Sunday Times, NBC Nightly News, ABC News Nightline, CNN, U.S. News & World
Report, Reuters, Financial Times, Associated Press and BusinessWeek.

The public relations team played an essential role for Sorenson Media as it
created, developed, and then spun off Sorenson Communications, the nation`s
premier video relay service for deaf individuals. Sorenson Communications was
acquired by GTCR Golder Rauner LLC in 2005 in the most lucrative private equity
deal in Utah history up to that time, and is now Utah`s largest communications
technology company. The team continues to manage public relations for Sorenson
Media, creator of the industry`s most widely deployed digital video codec and
its most widely used video compression application, Sorenson Squeeze.

For the past eight years the group has managed public relations for James LeVoy
Sorenson and his family. Sorenson, who passed away in 2008, was the nation`s
68th wealthiest person according to Forbes magazine and was among the world`s
greatest medical inventors. He left behind one of Utah`s largest charities, the
Sorenson Legacy Foundation, for which Parkinson and his group manage
communications.

Parkinson began his public relations career in Calif.`s Silicon Valley with
Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, Adobe and Keynote Systems. Jacob Moon and
Kimball Thomson, both of whom have worked with Parkinson on behalf of the
Sorenson Companies, will be key members of the Method Communications team. Moon
was editor of Utah Business Magazine, handling executive relations, editorial
planning, managing staff and writing and editing for the monthly business
publication. He has a bachelor`s degree in journalism and a master's in
communications management. Thomson was the co-founder and former publisher of
Digital iQ magazine, and is author of the Utah Facts Book and the official
marketing book for the State of Utah, Utah: Life Elevated. He also serves as
executive director of the National Summit on Personalized Health Care, which he
co-founded in 2008.

Other companies on Method Communications` client roster are MediConnect Global,
Friends of Art Works for Kids, Sorenson Genomics, David Eccles School of
Business at the University of Utah, Crocker Ventures, Rejuvenation Labs,
Sorenson Capital, Sorenson Group Holdings, Sorenson Management Group, Sorenson
Management Services, Sorenson Associates and eSignal.
