Award recognizes best-in-class manufacturers using advanced technologies to
achieve business transformation
MARLTON, N.J.--(Business Wire)--
Acsis, Inc., a leader in visibility and traceability solutions for supply chain
safety, security and efficiency, today announced that its customer, DuPont
Protection Technologies (DPT), has been selected as a winner of the Managing
Automation "2010 Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards." DuPont Protection
Technologies, a business within DuPont, was selected as a winner for
implementing a system that would significantly improve the visibility and
control essential to improve its globally distributed supply chain end-to-end.

The DuPont Protection Technologies business produces some well known product
lines including DuPont Kevlar, Nomex, Tyvek and Sontara. Converting these
materials into finished products requires an integrated, multi-level,
third-party global supply chain of co-manufacturers and distributors.
Implementing Acsis TrakExchange (formerly DPExchange) supply chain integration
technology is an important investment DPT has made to efficiently convert
diverse materials into finished products used across many diverse market
applications.

"The level of end-to-end visibility and control that we were able to achieve has
enabled more efficient production planning, control and supply chain
optimization, which is one of many steps we are taking to help improve customer
service and satisfaction," said Joseph McMillan, Product Tracking Global Center
of Excellence Leader for DuPont.

The DPT Third Party Supply Chain Integration project links more than 125 toll
manufacturing and distribution suppliers into a cohesive partner network with
DuPont`s ERP system as its hub. This allows DPT to manage each of these
third-party partners as it does one of its own manufacturing plants or
distribution centers. This streamlines the supply chain and provides real-time
visibility and control over a complex global partner network.

Using Acsis TrakExchange, which provides real-time synchronization of data
across a company`s entire enterprise and extended supply chain by monitoring and
managing key events and data, DuPont achieved real-time synchronization of data
throughout the enterprise and extended supply chain. Additionally, key DuPont
business processes were improved during the year-long project, including:

* Optimizing visibility, inventories, planning and administration for global
supply chain management
* Achieving complete visibility to deliveries, shipments, inventories,
production status and material consumption
* Streamlining of communication and status between DuPont and its partners
* Delivery of dynamic, region-specific labeling on demand, around the world
* Minimizing partner ramp-up time
* Automating translation of on-screen information to minimize language
differences
* Adhering to DuPont`s stringent system security requirements

"We are delighted to see the results that DuPont is achieving by taking bold
steps to rethink processes and create new advantages in business speed and
value," said David R. Brousell, editor-in-chief of Managing Automation. "Using
technology from a best of breed company such as Acsis has clearly helped DuPont
to achieve these objectives."

The Progressive Manufacturing Awards program recognizes best-in-class
manufacturers from around the world who are using advanced technologies to
achieve business transformation. The project has enabled DPT to take another
important step in improving manufacturing agility and responsiveness utilizing
best-in-class third-party process partners while retaining all the advantages of
traditional internal supply chain visibility and controls with real-time
oversight.

"We are thrilled that DuPont Protection Technologies has been recognized for
these impressive accomplishments," said Andre Pino, vice president and chief
marketing officer of Acsis, Inc. "We take great pride in our technology which
enables leading companies like DuPont to improve business processes, optimize
the supply chain, and enhance visibility throughout the entire product
lifecycle."
