Apprion Names Warren Smith to Head Product Development

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, Apr 06 (MARKET WIRE) --
Apprion, the leading provider of industrial wireless application
networks, today announced that Warren Smith has joined the team as Vice
President of Products. With over thirty years experience in technology
and networking, Smith brings extensive product development knowledge and
engineering expertise to Apprion. Smith will be responsible for Apprion's
entire ION product family, including hardware engineering, software
engineering and product management.

Smith began his networking career at Sun Microsystems, where he was
Director of Sun's Distributed Computing Group and helped spearhead the
development of the CORBA standard. After his tenure there, Smith was VP
of Engineering at a series of successful networking and network security
companies, including NetManage (acquired by Micro Focus), SonicWall,
Concentric Networks, IP Dynamics, and Mirapoint. Prior to joining
Apprion, Smith was Senior Vice President of Engineering at IronKey Inc.,
a global leader in secure managed portable storage, authentication, and
trusted virtual computing with secure, FIPS 140-2 flash drives.

Smith will spearhead the Apprion product team that designs and develops
the ION System -- a comprehensive industrial wireless application
networking system that enables industrial facilities to cost-effectively
deploy and manage multiple wireless applications as one unified,
integrated system. The ION System consists of the Apprion IONosphere and
IONizers. Integrated into the ION System are five applications that are
core to industrial wireless application networks: Video Monitoring,
Communications, Condition Monitoring, Workforce Mobility, and Location.
